Former MSNBC host Brian Williams is in the final stages of discussing the possibility of hosting a live election night special on Amazon Prime Video, Variety reported on Saturday.

Variety reported that the information is according to five people familiar with the matter.

But the publication noted that the sources had warned that “the concept isn’t necessarily guaranteed to be completed.” Amazon declined to make executives available for comment, Variety said.

With less than six weeks to go until Election Day, the aim of the special, according to the five people familiar with the matter, is to have a “non-partisan discussion” of the events of the night. Variety reported a source said that the show would focus mostly on explaining the news rather than “breaking individual pieces of it.”

According to Variety, the sources said that Williams would be mostly relying on The Associated Press to determine how candidates are doing in each state in the election special.

The special could mark the first entry into news-related content by a stand-alone streaming company, Variety said. Amazon Prime Video has mostly focused on movies, reality shows and scripted original series.

Though, the source cautioned against viewing the special as a sign the streaming giant would start regularly producing news-related content.
