Vice President Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) will travel to swing state Georgia next week on a bus tour, marking the ticket’s first campaign stop after the duo formally accepted the Democratic nomination at the convention earlier this week.

The visit to the Georgia is also the first time Harris and Walz will travel to the pivotal battleground state together. The bus tour will be a swing through southern Georgia and end with a rally in the Savannah area with Harris, after Walz leaves the state, Thursday night.

Harris and Walz plan to meet with voters in Georgia on their tour. The campaign is investing heavily in the Peach State with more than 170 Democratic campaign staffers in 24 coordinated campaign offices across the state.

At the rally Thursday, Harris plans to “lay out the stark choice facing voters in this election between Donald Trump’s dark and dangerous Project 2025 agenda and [her] optimistic and patriotic vision for a new way forward,” according to the campaign.

They are also hoping to build the campaign’s volunteer efforts after rallies last month helped generate thousands of volunteer sign ups in battleground states, per the team.

Harris and Walz were on a bus tour across Pennsylvania, another critical swing state, the week before the convention in Chicago. The vice president left the Windy City Friday to return to Washington.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index currently has former President Trump, the GOP nominee, in the lead with 49.2 percent support compared to Harris’s 46.5 percent.
