Vice President Harris outpaced former President Trump by 3 percentage points in the key battleground state of Michigan, a new Quinnipiac University poll showed.
The survey, released Wednesday, is a switch from a separate Quinnipiac poll from earlier this month, which showed Trump leading Harris in Michigan by 3 points, 50 percent to 47 percent.
The latest polling found that Harris now leads Trump in that state, 49 percent to 46 percent, among likely voters. Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent candidate Cornel West each garnered 1 percent of support, the survey revealed.
The poll also found that in the state, women support Harris, 57 percent to 37 percent, compared to men who back Trump, 56 percent to 40 percent.
Likely Michigan voters said Trump would handle issues like the economy, immigration and the conflict in the Middle East better, the survey found.
On abortion, preserving democracy and a crisis that puts the country at great risk, likely Michigan voters preferred Harris, the poll revealed.
When asked about honesty, 46 percent of likely voters in the state said that Harris is honest, compared to 48 percent who said she is not, the survey showed. Meanwhile, 39 percent of voters said Trump is honest, compared to 59 percent who said he is not.
Favorability ratings for Harris were even, with 48 percent viewing her both favorably and unfavorably, the survey revealed. For Trump, 46 percent viewed him favorably, compared to 52 percent who viewed him unfavorably.
The poll, which was conducted from Oct. 17-21, surveyed 1,136 likely voters in Michigan. The margin of error was 2.9 percentage points.
