Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said he believes President-elect Trump will issue a “blizzard of executive orders” once he is inaugurated.

Barrasso joined CBS News’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday, where he was asked about the Senate’s confirmation of Trump’s Cabinet picks and what lies ahead for the start of Trump’s second term.

“The rubber hits the road this week with all of these hearings on the Cabinet,” he said.

“And then, when President Trump takes office next Monday, there is going to be shock and awe with executive orders, a blizzard of executive orders, on the economy, as well as on the border,” Barrasso continued.

Trump has said there’s various things on his to-do list for when he is inaugurated, many of them controversial.

The president-elect has plans to carry out a mass deportation plan, though immigration advocates question the logistics of how he would realistically implement the idea.

He also said he plans on pardoning Jan. 6 defendants who stormed the Capitol just over four years ago.

Barrasso, the new Senate majority whip, said it’s part of his job to help Trump carry out his plans by confirming the nominees he’s chosen to fill out his second administration.

“I have met with just about all of them,” he said. “I support every one of these nominees. As the whip, my job is to make sure they get across the finish line, get on the job.”

Barrasso said he will work “around the clock” if Democrats try to complicate the nomination process.
