Maruti Brezza CNG To Get Big Safety Update: Details

Maruti Suzuki launched the Brezza CNG back in March of 2023. At the time, the company used to offer this sub-compact SUV with a slew of safety features. These included Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA). However, sometime later, the company, for unforeseen reasons, stopped offering the Brezza CNG with these safety features. However, it has now been revealed via a leaked document that it will be once again offering these features on the Brezza CNG.

According to V3 Cars, the exact date when these safety features are reintroduced to the Brezza CNG have not been revealed. However, it is anticipated that they could make it into the production versions by mid-to-end May. Additionally, it is believed that there will be no bump in the pricing of the Brezza CNG.

Brezza CNG Pricing and Powertrain

Currently, the Brezza CNG LXI variant is priced at Rs 9.29 lakh. Apart from it, there are three more CNG variants of the Brezza. The company offers it in VXI, ZXI, and ZXI Dual-tone variants. The pricing of these variants is Rs 10.65, 12.10, and 12.24 lakh, respectively.

In terms of the powertrain, the Brezza CNG draws its power from its time-tested K-series 1.5L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. This engine in the SUV generates a max power output of 86.6 bhp at 5500 rpm and 121.5 Nm of peak torque at 4200 rpm.

The company claims that the powertrain delivers an excellent fuel efficiency of 25.51 km/kg. The Brezza S-CNG comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the model will be available in three different variants – LXi, VXi, and ZXi, along with dual-tone color options.

Brezza Mild Hybrid relaunched

Back in January of this year, soon after the launch of the new Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon facelift, Maruti Suzuki also relaunched the Brezza ZXI and ZXI Plus in the country. Both of these variants are currently priced at Rs 11.15 lakh and Rs 12.58 lakh, respectively.

For those who may not be aware, Maruti Suzuki previously offered the mild hybrid option with the Brezza. However, back in July of 2022, it stopped offering this technology in the popular sub-compact SUV. Currently, the Vitara Brezza has been dethroned by the Tata Nexon as the best-selling sub-compact SUV in the country.

Another new rival to compete with Brezza

2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO 1

Maruti Suzuki Brezza was already competing with a number of sub-compact SUVs from top carmakers in the country. This included the Mahindra XUV300 as well. Now for the 2024 model year, Mahindra has given the XUV 300 a new name (XUV 3XO) and a ton of segment-first features. So it seems like the Brezza could once again face a little more competition in the market.
