Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) is making a campaign stop on Wednesday at a police station in Shelby Township, Mich.
The suburban Detroit community lies within Macomb County, historically considered a bellwether in national elections.
President Biden had been struggling in the polls in Michigan, where his support for Israel’s military action in Gaza has drawn condemnation from many people in communities like Dearborn, the largest city in the country with an Arab American majority population.
But with Vice President Harris as candidate for the top office, the Democratic ticket has enjoyed a significant comeback in Michigan polling, making swing voters in the state a critical demographic for the Trump-Vance campaign to win over.
