Former President Trump is campaigning in North Carolina Saturday afternoon, as early voting concludes in the Tar Heel State.
Nearly half of all registered voters in the key battleground state had already cast a ballot by Thursday, according to election officials. Trump, and many Republican down ballot candidates, have leaned into promoting early voting this election cycle, despite years of skepticism.
During his visit Saturday, the former president is expected to target Vice President Harris and the Biden administration over inflation and taxes, per the campaign.
With just days left until the election, The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls shows Trump ahead of his Democratic rival by 1.4 points — in the crucial swing state — 49.1 percent to 47.7 percent.
The rally in Gastonia, N.C., is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. EDT.
